Medico provides home care to people who need support to remain independent in their own home.
We pride ourselves on the ability to provide a local service, meeting local needs.
We deliver services to, and meet the needs of various customer groups, including;
- Local Authority Social Services
- Primary Care Trusts
- Private Clients
Within these customer groups we deliver our home care services to a number of different
client groups. Each of these services is tailored to the specific needs and requirements to
the individual who is receiving our care and support. Detailed below is a summary of the

Delivering care to individuals who may need a little extra help in order to retain their
independence in their own homes. Services include;
- Live-in care – where Medico can provide a trained, experienced carer to be on hand 24 hours a day
- Hospital Discharge – Helping a times of need on discharge from hospital and supporting the road to recovery
- Palliative care – Providing comfort and support to both the individual and their families.
- Dementia – Care services that will make a positive difference to the experience of individuals with dementia, and their carers.
- Head Injuries – providing both personal care and support services to individuals with head injuries
- Rapid Response – Service designed to provide 24–hour access, seven days a week support from care workers specially trained to deal with crisis situations
Meeting the care needs of those members of the community who wish to and want to remain in
the safety and comfort of their own homes. Medico will ensure that you retain as much
inpendence as is individually possible, providing the level of care that is right for you.
Services include;
- Domestic Help – Assisting with day-to-day tasks such as shopping, cleaning, laundry, etc.
- Personal Care – Help with activities such as bathing, getting dressed, etc.
- Maintaining Health – Helping to maintain health and dietary requirements e.g. meal preparation, assistance with medicines.
- Social Companionship – Being there to provide reassurance and companionship e.g. accompanying to social activities, assistance with leisure activities.
Valuing, empowering, enabling and supporting people with learning difficulties to help them
live their lives as fully and independently as possible. Medico will deliver a package of care
that is person-centred and meets the individual needs of the service users. Services include;
- General support – Valuing, empowering,
enabling and supporting people with learning difficulties to help them live their lives as fully and
independently as possible.
- Respite support – for both the service user and carer
- Independent Living Fund – Medico can assist by
working with the individuals requiring support, to empower them to self-assess and take the lead in
identifying what type of care they require.
Medico will work in close partnership with Local Authority Social services departments
to deliver childcare services which safeguard and promote child welfare. All of our staff have
received specific training and checks to ensure the highest quality service is delivered.
Medico is able to provide assistance to enable those affected by mental health problems to
live as independently as possible. Medico can assist by working in conjunction with existing
Mental Health Authorities and teams to provide:
- Encouragement of basic well-being and support with domestic activities
- Management of disorders and conditions
- Responding to coping provisions
- Supporting and caring in difficult situations
- Support with hospital visits
Medico provides help and support to empower and enable adults with a disability to live as
independently as possible. If a person has a physical or sensory impairment, we can provide
services that can assist and help. These may include day care, respite care or services to help
at home.
